POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Program/Product Manager will be the primary leadership point of contact for their assigned Programs/Products. This is a leadership-level position that does not include direct supervision responsibilities.
The IT Program/Product Manager will establish Program Charters for managed programs/products and create roadmap(s) including all in-progress and projected projects and other planned work related to the program. They will oversee execution of work that falls within the program scope.
This role will be responsible for identifying and establishing standards and process that need to be defined at the program/product level to ensure consistency and minimize project-level and operational issues for assigned products. The IT Program/Product manager will identify and address issues/requirements that apply at the program level (affect all projects within the program) to ensure they are addressed. This role will be responsible for program/product budgeting, working with appropriate IT Leadership to ensure the budget needs of the Program/Product are accounted for during the annual budgeting process, and working with the IT Finance to secure additional funds, when changes arise. They will work with third-party vendors to negotiate contracts associated with assigned program(s)/product(s). This role is for coordinating communications across projects in the program to ensure proper timing, consistency, etc. Track and coordinate escalation and resolution of program issues/risks - serve as the first-line escalation point for project-level issues/risks. Provide coordination of organization change management activities at the program level.
The Program/Product manager will ensure project and program-level plans and data are maintained according to IT PMO standards, using PMO standard tools and be responsible for program-level reporting, working with leadership to understand their reporting requirements and contributing requirements to the development of program/product level reporting. They will facilitate program-level executive steering committee discussions, user group meetings, and coordinate efforts between multiple PMs managing projects that are part of assigned programs/products.
The IT Program/Product Manager will support the development of standards/discipline for Program/Product Management within IT, including developing processes, templates, etc.
They will also serve as a project manager for select, key projects in the program.
