POSITION SUMMARY:
The Special Procedures Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Laboratory Manager oversees and manages daily Special Procedures laboratory operations to ensure the highest quality of patient care while meeting CAP, CLIA and Joint Commission regulatory and compliance standards. Management oversight includes laboratory staff performance, interactions, and quality of work. Clinical management includes maintaining proper equipment operation, new test implementation and validation, troubleshooting and resolving laboratory issues, correcting errors, and documenting quality control, resulting in efficient, timely and highest quality IHC slide production. Laboratory staff report directly to the Special Procedures IHC lab Manager, who in turn reports to the Medical Director of the Special Procedures Laboratory and Operations Director. The Special procedures manager also interact with pathologists, residents, including and other laboratory supervisors and managers. Under the direction of Special Procedures Medical Director, the Special Procedures Manager also manages the Digital Pathology and Core Research Laboratory.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree required in Biological Sciences or related Lab Sciences
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years of Work Experience in a pathology laboratory required
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a pathology laboratory is strongly preferred
Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) Preferred
