POSITION SUMMARY:
The Surgical Technician OB (OB Tech) is responsible in assisting with maximizing patient flow by coordinating activities related to the Labor and Delivery (L&D) OR and by maintaining the L&D environment and supplies in a cost-efficient manner. In addition, the OB Tech participates in the delivery of patient care including direct operative and central sterile processing support services.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Ability to effectively speak, read, and write English. Basic spelling and arithmetic, and ability to understand and follow directions. Multilingual skills (beyond that of English) in languages appropriate to the patient populations served by the Medical Center are preferred.
Ability to accurately interpret and utilize medical terminology and abbreviations.
Ability to access and enter computerized data/information.
Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with patients, families, physicians, and other hospital staff in a dynamic and stressful environment.
Organizational skills to effectively set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Requires minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Graduate of surgical technology program with current surgical technician certification or with equivalent OR work experience or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing school program.
Compensation Range:
$38.94- $49.38This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
