Position: Senior Clinical Research Coordinator, Endocrine

Location: Boston, MA

Schedule: 24 hours per week, Hybrid (work from home 1 day per week)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator conducts patient recruitment, administers questionnaires, abstracts medical records, maintains patient databases, enters data into sponsor-specific electronic data capture forms, performs administrative tasks, assists in grant preparation, and participates with the research team in preparation of data and other reports. Will also assist with audits and quality.  Must be able to work independently and make sound judgment with study protocols, data evaluation, and recruitment strategies. 

This is a senior level role which requires strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking.  Must be able to work independently, identify problems, and develop sound solutions.  Expected to introduce innovations to the research study and design research protocols in conjunction with the Principal Investigator.  This position coordinates the lab activities and is expected to be a liaison and strong resource to the department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter information into the appropriate EMR and eCRF systems and departmental systems in an accurate manner.
  • Collect and organize patient data.  Review data for quality and completeness and recommends changes to protocols and data evaluation.
  • Assist with the coordination of the collection, processing, organization, and storage of biological specimens in the systems. Perform clinical tests (Phlebotomy, EKGs)
  • May be responsible for IRB and regulatory submissions and maintenance of regulatory files
  • Develops and implements patient recruitment strategies and quality assurance procedures.
  • Prepares, designs, and performs statistical analysis and presents data reports and findings. Designs research protocols in conjunction with the PI.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct the daily activities of research assistants
  • Evaluates RA’s performance / hires, fires, and disciplines staff
  • Train and orient plus function as lead in research setting
  • Coordinates staffing and schedules and coordinates lab activities
  • Acts as a resource for the department

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • BA or BS required
  • Master's Degree Preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires 3-5 years of directly related, progressively responsible experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to design, prepare, deliver and evaluate clinical programs
  • High level time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and ability to prepare/monitor budgets
  • Knowledge of current and developing clinical research trends and ability to meet the requirements of the varying funding sources
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise others
  • Ability to resolve technical problems and interpret acceptability of data results. Keen knowledge of data management programs.

This position is funded by a 3 year grant. There may be opportunity beyond this grant funding for position integration into ongoing operations.
