Location: Boston, MA

Schedule: Per Diem, On-site

POSITION DETAILS:

Year 1 of the grant: the RA will facilitate pre-testing recruitment, conduct 20 pre-testing interviews in survey development, ramping up of the survey instrument, and data collection with patients (execution of the survey). 

Year 2 of the grant: the RA will facilitate with recruitment and coordination of the patient focus groups, and will assist in qualitative thematic analysis.

Years 3-4 (the Aim 3 pilot trial): Will assist with recruitment, collection of baseline data, assist with screening, enrollment, and consent processes, conduct 7 day check-in call to ensure the participant has watched the video, and conduct the survey and interview with patient participants 30 days after video delivery. Year 5 of the grant: the RA will assist in data analysis and qualitative thematic analysis of the patient and clinical staff qualitative interviews.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in data collection and entry on various research and quality improvement projects.
  • Makes phone calls, drafts letters, conducts qualitative interviews, maintains patient databases and performs other administrative tasks, including preparation of data and other reports.
  • Works in the BMC and NeighborHealth clinics at times outlined by Dr. Rizzolo to assist in recruitment and interviews.
  • Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with participants and protecting participant confidentiality.
  • Responsible for the coordination of recruitment communications including in- person and remote interviews, data collection, as well as assistance with qualitative analysis.
  • Provides general clerical support, including handling forms, reminder phone calls, preparation of study materials, filing, and scheduling appointments. Will assist with BUMC Institutional Review Board correspondence.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required by time of hire.
  • Master's Degree preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years previous work experience preferred.
  • Qualitative research experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to travel to participants’ homes as needed, and off-site to additional clinics in the Boston area.
  • Must be able to complete BMC’s translation examination for interpreter certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with participants and to interact effectively with a variety of Medical Center staff and outside contacts.
  • Bilingual Spanish-English required

Compensation Range:

$15.14- $21.15

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
