POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager, Labor Management will play a pivotal role in optimizing workforce efficiency and productivity across Boston Medical Center's academic medical center and community hospitals. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Workforce and Productivity, and will be responsible for planning, executing, and supporting a wide range of complex labor management projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Facilitate the implementation of labor management tools and technologies, develop and execute comprehensive project plans and monitor project progress and mitigate risks.
  • Financial and Labor Analysis: Analyze labor and financial data that is used to develop and implement strategic workforce planning.
  • Project Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams by fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Project Management:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and manage expectations.

  • Labor Management Initiatives:
    • Lead the implementation of labor management tools and technologies to improve workforce efficiency and productivity.
    • Analyze labor data to identify trends and opportunities to enhance operational performance.
    • Develop and implement strategic workforce planning to align labor resources with organizational goals.

  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to streamline labor processes and reduce operational costs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements.
    • Conduct regular process reviews and audits to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

  • Project Leadership:
    • Facilitate and mentor project teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, empowering them to achieve project objectives.
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.

  • Training and Development:
    • Assist in development and delivery of training programs to educate employees on labor management systems, processes, and best practices.
    • Help create training materials, including manuals, presentations, and job aids.
    • Aide in conducting training sessions and workshops to ensure effective knowledge transfer.

  • Budget Support:
    • Run and analyze financial reports related to the annual labor budget.
    • Develop and present insightful slides to senior leadership, highlighting key trends and variances.
    • Create and compare cost entity data.
    • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting

JOB REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's degree

  • Skilled in project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and milestone tracking
  • Ability to lead projects, foster collaboration, and motivate teams to achieve common goals
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and evolving business needs
  • Knowledge of financial tools and systems
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all work.

Compensation Range:

$61,500.00- $89,500.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
