Position: Program Coordinator, General Internal Medicine

Location: Boston, MA

Schedule: 20 hours per week, Hybrid

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Youth Advocacy and Research Collaborative (YARC) is seeking a Program Coordinator to support our mission of improving youth health outcomes through advocacy, research, education, training, and community engagement. Current efforts are focused on youth substance use and overdose prevention.

The Program Coordinator will work closely with YARC leadership to strengthen collaborative partnerships, coordinate youth and family advisory groups, implement community-based overdose prevention trainings, and manage pilot research projects on youth substance use. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to youth-centered, evidence-informed public health initiatives.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day coordination programming of the NaRCAD clinical education project. Requires strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communications & Program Development: 60%

  • Managing NaRCAD’s social media campaign to increase visibility, followers, and web traffic. Writing original content by interviewing clinicians, former trainees, and public health professionals for our best practices blog

  • Curating content for our quarterly e-newsletter · Curating new resources for implementation toolkits housed on the NaRCAD website. Content editing for website, blog, and newsletter

  • Researching new models in clinical outreach education for internal tracking and external promotion purposes. Analyzing data from the field and categorizing which topic areas are of most interest/use to these trainees/partners

  • Managing community member directory and using active promotion techniques to increase number of network subscribers

  • Supporting communications/marketing efforts to promote educational events; helping to design, send, and track responses to event blasts and other engagement pieces. Tracking partner engagement & academic detailing in various states/in the field

Coordinating Educational Events: 15%

  • Researching field speakers for the annual conference. Maintaining working agenda of conference course offerings and speakerc contributions

  • Supporting virtual (and eventually) in-person events-based needs such as managing registration, scheduling, etc.

  • Providing and tracking updated logistical information to vendors involved in execution of training meetings, conferences and materials development

  • Work in collaboration with other team members during events and trainings to support the seamless execution of events (logistics, catering, etc.) Tracking expenses and supporting the Program Manager in any related tasks

  • Preparing slide decks at the direction of the Communications & Education Director and Program Manager

Additional Program and Administrative Support: 25%

  • Scheduling and coordinating calls & webinars with partners

  • Tracking, coordinating, and note keeping for team meetings

  • Research for meetings with project partners, NaRCAD service partners and other interested stakeholders

  • Grant-related tracking of program progress and support of all other program activities

  • Provide relevant research and support on topic-specific academic detailing projects and partner collaborations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (concentration in areas of public health, clinical background, communications, education, social sciences, and similar fields preferred, but not required)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in a team-based environment with proven track record of supporting complex projects and timelines.

  • Non-profit or education/training program coordination and evaluation is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Passion for healthcare/public health and lifelong learning

  • Self-starter with ability to work well independently, as well as with a dedicated and enthusiastic team. Creative, flexible, solutions-based thinker that shares and reflects on ideas

  • Excellent written, organizational, verbal, virtual, and interpersonal communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Suite, Zoom, and Twitter for business

  • Strong public speaking skills across multiple settings/to varied audiences

  • Must be able to participate in travel for NaRCAD’s field trainings and educational projects approximately 6 times/year
