Position: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Training Grant)       

Department: Psychiatry Research

Schedule: 40 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator will participates in a major research study (or studies) using different and established methodologies and techniques and other translational research projects associated with the outcomes. Supervises research activities in the laboratory; provides guidance and direction to undergraduate students performing multiple research projects. Responsible for monitoring specimens or subjects during studies, as well as the collection and analysis of data. Works with the Principal Investigator in designing and modifying the clinical research protocol, coordinating the effective collection, analysis and publication of research results, developing new project ideas and contributing to grant proposals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • MD or PhD required
  • exposure to clinical research preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm towards a research career.
  • Ability to be self-directed, to prioritize essential tasks, and to balance numerous responsibilities.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in collaboration with a variety of individuals, including research scientists, clinicians, and administrators.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers. Experience with statistical analysis tools preferred.

COMPENSATION RANGE: $65,000 - $70,000
