POSITION SUMMARY:

Boston Medical Center Health System’s Marketing Data & Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Intern will be responsible for managing and optimizing online listings across multiple locations, ensuring accurate and consistent information. The intern will monitor and respond to reviews across key platforms to maintain a strong brand reputation and assist in analyzing listing performance and user engagement data. The role also involves identifying opportunities to improve search visibility, supporting basic website analytics efforts, and creating regular reports that provide insights into online presence and competitive positioning. This position sits on the Digital Team within the Marketing & Communications Department and reports to the Sr. Performance Manager.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Online Presence & Reputation Management

  • Maintain and optimize Google Business Profile listings across multiple locations, ensuring accurate information, consistent branding, and up-to-date content.

  • Monitor and respond to reviews across platforms to support positive brand reputation and resolve concerns in coordination with internal teams.

  • Track review sentiment and listing performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement in local visibility and engagement.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

  • Assist in collecting and analyzing data related to website traffic, local SEO, Google Business Profile activity, and user engagement.

  • Identify technical issues or inconsistencies affecting online presence or user experience, and support optimization efforts to improve performance across local search and digital channels.

  • Assist Digital team with various projects including website updates, data pulls, and activities related to team projects.

Reporting & Competitive Insights

  • Generate monthly reports and dashboards summarizing Google listing activity, review trends, and digital performance.

  • Conduct competitor analysis and monitor industry trends related to local SEO, reputation management, and digital marketing strategies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • High School Diploma

  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, analytics, marketing, communications, or related major preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

  • Basic understanding of analytics for marketing, campaign tracking and SEO

  • Proficiency in Google Analytics or similar analytics platform preferred

  • Basic understanding of data analysis

  • Organized, proactive, dependable and detail oriented 

  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks

  • Willingness to learn new software
