Position: Data Research Assistant, Pediatrics      

Location: Boston, MA

Schedule: Per Diem, Hybrid (On-site 3-4 times per year)

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role will involve data acquisition, review, management, and analysis within the Section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, in support of ongoing clinical research studies about tuberculosis. The successful candidate will meet weekly with the study team and will work collaboratively with the team to ensure adherence to research protocols and best practices. Additional responsibilities will include research ethics and data management training, and training in data collection from the electronic health record.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs queries and creates reports of data as required
  • Abstracts chart information from Epic. Abstracts data from large datasets
  • Abstracts data and works with CDW to create reports
  • Completes data entry in REDCap and manages data correction processes
  • Reviews data collection and entries for accuracy and integrity of data
  • Routinely performs backup of critical data
  • Contributes to abstracts and manuscripts for publication
  • Utilizes project management best practices to ensure timely completion of work and tracking

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Some work experience in a data-related field a plus

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Performs queries and creates reports of data as required

  • Abstracts chart information from Epic

  • Abstracts data from large datasets

  • Abstracts data and works with CDW to create reports

  • Completes data entry in REDCap and manages data correction processes working closely with PI

  • Reviews data collection and entries for accuracy and integrity of data

  • Routinely performs backup of critical data

  • Contributes to abstracts and manuscripts for publication

  • Utilizes project management best practices to ensure timely completion of work and tracking

    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers.  Experience with statistical software a plus.

Compensation Range:

$16.35- $22.84

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
