Position: Business Analyst, Neurology
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: 20 hours per week, Hybrid
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will provide key stakeholders, at all levels, with reports and business analysis of required data, consistent with the long-term goals and strategy set by the Department of Neurology and the hospital by performing routine daily or monthly tasks related to the financial operation of the Department and analyses to determine present and future financial performance. Under direction of the Finance Manager and Administrative Director, this position assists the department management in identifying, establishing, implementing, and monitoring business and financial related processes that contribute to the successful operations of BMC. The Business Analyst provides direct support on high profile projects designed to reinforce the hospital’s strategic goals and increase operational efficiencies. In performing this role, the Business Analyst gathers and analyses data; interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining, working directly with client areas and project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience) is required.
REQUIREMENTS
At least one year experience in finance, accounting, medical billing or related field is required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Basic understanding of medical terminology ICD9 & 10 codes, DRGs and CPT4 codes.
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and very detail-oriented focus.
Excellent organizational skills, proven ability to manage complex projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Requisite poise, judgment, and trustworthiness to represent BMC to internal and external groups.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers. Experience with SQL and statistical analysis tools a plus.
Ability to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.

Compensation Range:
$53,000.00- $77,000.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
