POSITION SUMMARY:

Under supervision, intern-level employee assists the Vascular Technologist team with day-to-day operational duties and responsibilities, including patient prepping for exams, restocking supplies, cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining lab equipment. Provides administrative support, including review of patient medical history, documentation of previous test results, and providing essential overview to technologists.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  •  Assisting technicians with the administration of Vascular testing  
  • Replenishing exam room supplies and assisting with closing duties   
  • Analysis of patient medical history and providing an overview to the technician

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and looking to fulfill internship requirements for completion.   

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

Enrolled in a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program to obtain a RVT credential.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrate general knowledge of vascular examinations.
  • Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of vascular sonography to pursue registry status through The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and upon completion of the program to obtain a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential.
  • Understand the importance of lifelong continuing education in Vascular Ultrasound.

  • Basic understanding of Cardiac medical terminology and sonography

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
