POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Technology and Events Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the seamless execution of audiovisual and technical operations for various events, conferences, and programs, primarily focusing on supporting the Nursing department. Your responsibilities will include setting up and operating AV equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining and managing AV inventory, and recording and editing video footage and digital media content. Additionally, you will support event planning and coordination, perform administrative duties, and provide exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to staying current with emerging technologies to continuously improve program and event delivery.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Technology Support

  • AV Setup and Operation:

    • Provide outstanding support services, including setting up and breaking down audio, visual, and live-streaming equipment.

    • Operate in-room equipment for Nursing department events, instructional programs, meetings, and conferences.

    • Facilitate and support other departmental functions.

  • Technical Troubleshooting:

    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and AV issues promptly, including audio, video, lighting, computer hardware, software, peripheral devices, mobile devices, and network component problems.

    • Provide ad-hoc assistance to faculty, staff, and clients of all technology competency levels.

  • Equipment Management:

    • Inventory, maintain, and secure all AV equipment.

    • Generate reports on equipment status, usage statistics, and service requests for administrative review.

    • Anticipate and adapt to equipment challenges and changes promptly and professionally.

  • Event Recording:

    • Record and live stream special events and educational programs using video and DSLR cameras and audio equipment.

    • Edit footage, images, and graphic materials.

    • Compress footage and transfer to network drives for storage and future edits.

  • Documentation and Maintenance:

    • Maintain and update internal and user-facing documentation.

    • Attend pre-production meetings as needed and coordinate with event teams and the Senior Manager to ensure all technological needs are met.

    • Stay current with the latest technology solutions; research and recommend new technologies.

  • General Tech Support:

    • Provide computer tech support when not working on AV events.

    • Participate in post-production activities, including managing incoming/outgoing assets, editing, versioning, and maintaining the digital asset catalog.

Event Support

  • Event Planning and Coordination:

    • Support and implement solutions for multiple events and conferences, including annual nursing conferences, nursing recognition weeks, and special department events and programs.

    • Create detailed conference/event plans with recommended solutions and obtain approvals from relevant stakeholders.

    • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of programs and events when needed.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Perform various administrative tasks related to event support, such as procurement, registration, and preparation of materials.

    • Design and edit promotional materials.

    • Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.

    • Aggressively gather information on each project to achieve high-quality event productions.

    • Prepare nametags, materials, packages, gift bags, registration lists, etc.

    • Perform other job duties as assigned.

  • Customer Service:

    • Provide outstanding customer service and build collaborative relationships.

    • Maintain a customer-centric ethic, quality focus, and accountability.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Audiovisual Technology, or related field required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Audiovisual Technology, or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in AV, IT, live streaming events, or similar strongly preferred.

  • Work experience in the healthcare and/or academic sector is highly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA):

  • Knowledge of audiovisual equipment and systems and understanding of AV signal flow and live streaming technologies.

  • Experience in video recording and editing, proficient in Adobe Audition, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.

  • Preferred experience in live sound mixing.

  • Proficiency in web conferencing platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

  • Detail-oriented self-starter with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proactive problem-solving approach with solid troubleshooting skills for AV and technology-related issues.

  • Experience coordinating various types of events and projects.

  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively.

  • Team player with a customer-centric ethic, quality focus, and accountability.

  • Excellent time-management abilities.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Flexibility and willingness to work long hours and weekends and handle lifting/moving equipment up to 25 pounds.
