The Sr. Business Analyst will support high profile projects with exposure to hospital executives, both clinical and operational, designed to reinforce hospital-wide and department-specific strategic goals and increase operational efficiencies. Role has the opportunity to engage in projects spanning operations, clinical quality, inpatient strategy, and staffing optimization.

Key responsibilities include – Managing projects, with support from Ops Director, and using data to derive meaning and guide strategic initiatives; Work directly with central operational, clinical and business leaders to identify and analyze gaps in process and performance, and guide inpatient focused initiatives. Works autonomously, sets priorities and makes independent decisions of a complex nature.

This role would be a good fit for candidates with interest and expertise in using data to identify opportunities and drive results (mostly MS Excel), are comfortable structuring ambiguous problems and can work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Serves as the key member of Inpatient Operations function supporting problem solving, data analyses, reporting, development of project scope, goals and deliverables that support organization’s strategic goals.

2. Conducts complex data analysis to understand nature of operations and identify opportunities for improvement

3. Defines, develops and implements short- and long-term strategies and plans to meet organizational objectives with direction and support from the Operations Director.  Develop reporting to analyze current operations, identify opportunities for improvement, develop project plans, and teams to implement improvements.  Runs cross-functional initiatives to ensure key inpatient hospital goals and objectives (e.g., readmissions, inpatient transfers, length of stay) are met.

4. Oversees/coordinates specific and complex performance improvement related projects; provides leadership in project management; gathers deliverables from required constituents; tracks, analyzes, and makes recommendations or raises concerns on status reports, issue resolution, and program actual against project charter, budget, and/or plan.

5. Works collaboratively with stakeholders from across the organization to accomplish hospital goals and objectives and track KPIs.  Develops and maintains good communication and relationships within clinical and operational departments. Works with stakeholders from across the organization to develop and implement programmatic initiatives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required

3-5 years of related experience with a focus in data analysis, problem structuring, project management, strategic planning

(or 1-2 years’ experience in top Management Consulting firms, or someone with clinical operations & analytics experience)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Confidence and adaptability to tackle complex and unstructured problems
  • Positive attitude and willingness to own all aspects of a project
  • Superb communication skills to distill complicated issues into clear recommendations for administrative and clinical teams
  • Advanced quantitative and critical reasoning skills to structure and carry out analyses
  • Strong interpersonal skills to navigate competing stakeholder interests
  • Ability to work independently and with matrixed teams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize across multiple projects to meet deadlines (with support from Operations Director)

Compensation Range:

$66,000.00- $96,000.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
