POSITION SUMMARY:
Full-time position for a pediatric speech language pathologist includes specialized practice in speech and language evaluations and therapy, with additional practice in feeding and swallowing evaluations and therapy and pediatric modified barium swallow studies. Services are provided in both outpatient and inpatient capacities. This role will predominantly be in person, though may incorporate some telehealth practice based on patient population needs. Candidate must be available to work weekends.
Additional responsibilities include documentation, care coordination as it pertains to the patient’s speech and language and/or feeding needs, and collaboration with peers as well as the medical team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist conducts comprehensive assessments of in and outpatients with disorders of swallowing, communication, voice and cognition. Plans and implements individual/group speech-language pathology treatments to achieve the highest possible level of independence. Collaborates with other disciplines to arrange for appropriate follow-up care and facilitates a successful return to home and work environments. Provides student training according to departmental guidelines and participates in continuous education. Is encouraged to assist in interdisciplinary research.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Work requires a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Work requires a current license required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. ASHA membership preferred.
Work requires a current CPR certification.
