POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Senior Director Applications Integration, the Senior Manager, Community Hospital Applications is responsible for overseeing the management, support, integration, and optimization of Patient Access, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), and Clinical applications used within the BMC Health System. This position involves collaborating with hospital/facility departments, IT teams, and vendors to ensure the integration, effective use, and performance of the electronic health record (EHR), revenue cycle and other systems used for direct and indirect patient care, and revenue. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, the ability to build collaborative relationships, and an acute understanding of hospital workflows to ensure that information technology meet the needs of BMCHS departments caregivers and improves end to end cross-functional workflows. The position has full supervisory responsibility for a team of 2-5 direct reports.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Application Management & Support:
Oversee the integration activities of hospital applications, including Patient Access, Revenue Cycle Management, Electronic Health Records (EHR), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Imaging, other 3rd party applications, and related supporting infrastructure.
Serve as the primary point of contact for hospital application support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of hospital application issues, working with technical teams or vendors as necessary.
Maintain a robust knowledge of system upgrades, patches, and new features to ensure applications are operating at optimal levels. Devise possible solutions, recommend course of action to decision makers.
Project Management & Implementation:
Manage the implementation of integration efforts as well as new applications or upgrades to existing systems, including project planning, resource allocation, and timeline management.
Coordinate with hospital stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to ensure smooth integration of applications into existing workflows.
Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful rollout, training, and adoption of new applications or system features.
Directly supervise a team of 2-5 direct reports, including, but not limited to, hiring, firing, promotions, performance management, training and professional development.
Collaboration with Hospital Stakeholders:
Work closely with clinicians, department heads, and healthcare staff to understand their needs and workflow requirements for department’s applications.
Act as a liaison between IT and hospital teams, ensuring clear communication of system capabilities, updates, and troubleshooting processes.
Gather and evaluate feedback from users to continuously improve workflow in applications and enhance user satisfaction. Translate specifications into system build.
System Optimization & Workflow Enhancement:
Identify opportunities to optimize applications to improve hospital workflows, patient care, and staff efficiency.
Ensure that clinical applications are fully integrated into clinical workflows and compliant with industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Meaningful Use).
Support continuous improvement efforts by evaluating system upgrade enhancements and the performance of hospital systems and recommending improvements.
Training & Documentation:
Provide input to/Collaborate with Training Team in development and delivery of end-user training programs and documentation that align with BMCHS standards, ensuring proper use of hospital applications and systems.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user guides, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Provide ongoing support and education to end-users on application best practices and new system functionalities.
Vendor & Budget Management:
Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers related to hospital applications, ensuring SLAs are met and services are delivered as contracted.
Assist in budget planning and forecasting for application-related costs, including software licensing, support, and training needs.
Compliance & Security:
Ensure applications comply with all regulatory and security requirements, including HIPAA, 21st Century Cures Act, and other relevant healthcare standards.
Work with IT security teams to monitor and address vulnerabilities and risks related to applications.
Performance Reporting & Analysis:
Monitor and report on the performance of applications, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess effectiveness.
Provide regular updates and status reports to senior management on project progress, application performance, and user satisfaction.
Participate in on call rotation, on-site support, and perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare IT, or related field required.
Master’s degree preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
None required.
IT certifications related to hospital systems (e.g., Epic Certifications, HIMSS, CPHIMS, CHIME, or PMP) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 7 years of related medical technology or healthcare IT experience, including at least 3 years as a supervisor or manager required.
Prior work experience with one or more of the following is required: EMR/EHR, HIE, Radiology systems and other ancillary/3rd party systems, coding/billing.
Demonstrated experience leading/ managing complex projects, managing cross-functional teams, meeting project deadlines, and collaborating/influencing non-IT personnel required.
Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs):
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in clinical EHR's (specifically Epic, Meditech, and Athena)
Knowledge of healthcare IT standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HL7, CCD, ICD-10)
Familiarity with databases, application interfaces, and integration technologies.
Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
Ability to identify complex problems, probable causes, impact on operations, and report to the appropriate parties.
Ability to independently and/or collaboratively bring problems to complete resolution.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing organizational needs.
Demonstrates strong multitasking skills displaying the ability to manage staff, many tasks and daily operation and support.
Preferred:
Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, CCD).
Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical operations
