Schedule: 40 Hours, Days/Evenings, 10a-6:30p, Full Time, Benefit Eligible

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the storage, retrieval, and distribution of patient image datasets (e.g., film files, CDs, image reports/results, other image media, etc.) and reports to and from image dataset and report storage areas and viewing locations.
  • Performs a variety of reception and clerical duties to include greeting, instructing patients, computer entry, and scheduling as well as associated telephone duties.
  • Utilizes registration functions as needed.
  • Tracks all physician orders.
  • Does collating and distribution/mailing of mammography patient letters daily.
  • Does coding of medical necessity codes.
  • Provides “wet readings” to physician offices.
  • File clerk responsibilities to ensure image availability and distribution.
  • Enforces HIPAA regulations and scanning signed acknowledgement forms.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Reception/office experience and previous computer entry/word processing experience required.
    • 1 year of previous medical record filing experience preferred.
    • Experience in a medical setting and medical terminology preferred.
  • Software/Hardware: PACS, office computers, telephone, fax, voice recognition/transcription, image management systems. Meditech knowledge helpful.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
