POSITION SUMMARY:
Schedules all required appointments for the designated Radiology modality (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, special procedures), as well as the interpreter services. The appointments are to be entered in the Radiology Information System and the hospital computer system as required by approved guidelines. Schedules both in-patients and outpatients, following the provided guidelines, in order to reduce the wait time for both groups. Ensures appropriate copying and distribution of the Radiology request forms. Maintains record and files; prepares reports, as needed. Receives faxes and phone calls from Medical Doctors offices and in-patient floors/units, for scheduling and returns scheduled appointments to the referring office practice. Checks for payers’ pre-authorization requirements and ensures that the appropriate offices are obtaining them; enters pre-authorization number in the system.

Requires completion of a high school education.
EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years of related work experience.
