POSITION SUMMARY:

The PGY2 Pharmacy resident will receive focused training in a number of domains related to pharmacy practice - clinical service, hospital practice, teaching and education, research, drug policy development, and leadership. Training will be under the direct guidance and mentorship of pharmacists experienced in their area of practice. The overall goal of a PGY2 residency is for the resident to develop proficiency in the aforementioned domains, gain invaluable experience in the respective area of practice, and develop the requisite tools needed to be an independent and successful practitioner. The PGY2 resident will complete a month-long orientation period. Thereafter, the resident will be evaluated after each completed rotation, after each completed requirement, and quarterly throughout the year. Please provide letter of intent including goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Must have a PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy plus completion of pharmacy practice residency.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

Must have a MA Pharmacist license by the hire date.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Interest in and aptitude for advanced training in pharmacy
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in formal and oral presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to interact with staff and patients in a courteous and customer service manner.
  • Dedicated team player with the willingness and desire to learn and grow.
  • Professional in conduct and appearance.
  • Proficient with standard Microsoft programs (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers. Ability and willingness to become proficient in additional healthcare related applications.
