POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides administrative oversight, business management, and program development for the Quality, Patient Safety and Patient Experience (QPSE) Department. Establishes work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the department.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

QPSE Operations Support

  • Assists with the operational needs of the QPSE department, including managing QPSE committee meetings, coordinating multidisciplinary meetings as needed such as Collaborative Case Reviews (CCR), short term workgroups, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Great Catches, etc.
  • Ensures appropriate and timely follow up of action items from RCAs, workgroup meetings, corrective action plans and oversees tracking of action items
  • Manage reminders for approaching deadlines for DPH, BORM, ROIs, CAPs
  • Assists with the preparation of certified patient notification letters, DMH and DPH required reporting, and insurance notification
  • Oversees the Patient Safety Grant program including grant applications, quarterly reports and finances, and coordinates the annual Patient Safety Symposium
  • Operational coordination and administrative support for regulatory agency onsite visits
  • Schedules and manages patient safety executive rounds
  • Manage onboarding for fellows and residents on the QI elective rotation
  • Develops relationships with our contracted vendors and ensures adherence to the contracts and timely payment

Project Management

  • Plays an integral part of the Daily Safety Huddle (DaSH) with tracking of issues, data and follow up, and assisting with the day-to-day management
  • Operational owner of the QPSE project list and priorities ensuring appropriate tracking of our work and timeliness
  • Project manager for non-clinical team prioritized projects, and will participate in quality improvement projects as requested
  • Works with the QPSE leadership team to develop and implement long and short range business plans
  • Tracks, analyzes information, and develops strategies to improve operations and enhance service delivery  
  • Assists with the accurate collection, coding, and analysis of safety data reported through the RL safety reporting system

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree required.

EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience.

Previous healthcare experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix team, and the ability to adequately represent needs of QPSE, and work with multiple stakeholders
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building skills; ability to mentor, guide and motivate through demonstration of best practices and leading by example.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce expected results.
  • Highly developed skills using personal computer tools including computerized healthcare information system, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
