POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Equity and Inclusion is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as well as workforce development within the organization. The Director ultimately will own high-priority system-wide cross functional collaborative projects and DEI Initiatives (i.e. Health Equity Accelerator, business-led DEI councils). This position will provide visionary leadership, drives systemic change, and collaborates with stakeholders to advance DEI and talent development goals.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

DEI Strategy and Leadership:

  • Advise and implement the organization's DEI strategy, vision, and goals in alignment with its mission and values.

  • Engage with senior leadership and key stakeholders to gain support and commitment for DEI initiatives.

  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to departmental leaders on integrating DEI principles into their respective areas.

  • Provide coaching and support to managers and leaders on addressing DEI-related challenges and fostering inclusive teams.

  • Owning and maintaining an up-to-date employee DEI dashboard.

Recruitment and Talent Management:

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition leadership on inclusive recruitment and retention strategies to attract, hire, and retain diverse talent.

  • Partner with hiring managers and internal Learning & Development team to eliminate bias in the recruitment process and ensure equitable opportunities for all candidates.

  • Support efforts to create a diverse pipeline of talent through targeted outreach, partnerships, and recruitment initiatives.

Workforce Development:

  • Help with the design and implementation of workforce development programs and initiatives to enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of employees in collaboration with the Workplace Development team.

  • Partner with ODE teammates to determine skill gaps across the business, develop training solutions, and execute and evaluate interventions.

Other ODE Responsibilities, as needed:

  • Collaborate with HR colleagues and system-wide stakeholders on economic mobility programming and initiatives.

  • Partner with Events Manager to implement community-building events that foster inclusive team-building and culture for employees.

  • Facilitate discussions and workshops on topics such as unconscious bias, privilege, and allyship to promote dialogue and learning.

EDUCATION:

Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or a related field preferred. Can be supplemented with 2 years of additional experience

EXPERIENCE:

7+ years of progressive experience in DEI leadership roles, workforce development, or related fields .

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing successful DEI strategies and initiatives.

  • Deep understanding of DEI principles, theories, and best practices, along with a commitment to continuous learning and growth.

  • Experience in workforce development, career advising, and/or talent recruitment.

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others to action.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to executive audiences.
