POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nursing Supervisor is an administrative management position that represents nursing administration. The Nursing Supervisor assesses the overall daily hospital environment and operations, is accountable for problem solving and initiating immediate, effective action as well as maintaining daily staffing levels.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Keeps Medical Center and Nursing Administrator-on-call apprised of administrative and emergent issues.
Participates in planning and allocating the resources of the division and assists in the distribution of resources within each unit.
Participates in contract compliance and ongoing labor relations.
Participates in hospital and nursing committees.
Makes administrative decisions within budgetary requirements.
Implements disciplinary actions within the Medical Center guidelines.
Participates in strategic planning, goal setting and evaluation.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Documents and communicates to administrator issues involving other hospital departments during one’s tour of duty.
Facilitates conflict resolution of staff and patients to appropriate parties and documents when and if necessary.
Coordinates incoming transfers and referrals for the Medical Center.
Works with referring MD to facilitate appropriate patient triage and placement.
Works to reduce transfer delays, balance patient flow and helps to standardize patient pathways.
Ensures adequate levels of staffing throughout all shifts.
Responsible for maintaining 5000 line.
Maintains transfer database.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BSN and at least 5 years of nursing/ICU experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
MSN Preferred
Patient Transfer Center experience preferred
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
Registration and current RN licensure in the state of MA in good standing required.

Compensation Range:
$45.43- $65.87This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
