JOB SUMMARY:

As the Manager of Operations for Cardiovascular Medicine, this position will be responsible for the daily activities ensuring staff and patient care achieve clinical, financial, and organizational outcomes. Patient satisfaction, throughput, safety and quality are the responsibility of the Manger of Operations as well as the hiring, orienting, scheduling, and professional development of the staff. Shall facilitate collaborative and team partnerships within the Interdisciplinary setting to Include physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, technologists, administrative and support services. Works with leadership to evaluate, develop, Initiate and promote process and system Improvements.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Responsible for supervising day-to-day operations of the Cardiovascular Medicine department.  to ensure that consistent quality patient care and services are provided

Resolve problems and/or recommends solutions to departmental issues. Receives guidance when clarification, interpretation or exception to organizational policy is needed.

Oversees and authorizes payroll for cardiovascular medicine

Assists the Director of Cardiology Services with the preparation of reports for all areas of responsibility, development and justification of the annual budget, maintaining and reporting statistical data regarding service volume trends, and completing on-going performance improvement for all operational activities within cardiovascular medicine

Directly supervises technologists, medical assistants and administrative support staff within cardiovascular medicine. Manages first-level employee relations, performance and disciplinary issues. Develop and implement schedules. Recruit, hire, train, performance manager, conduct performance appraisals, Consult with leadership regarding termination

Provide nursing supervision as needed, based on operational needs, and under the direction of nursing leadership for clinical scope of practice

Job Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree, with preference for degree in Nursing, and 5 years of experience in the field of Cardiology Diagnostics, of which at least 2 years must be in a supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Master’s Degree

Graduate of an accredited program in the field of Cardiovascular Diagnostics

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED (If none, please enter “N/A”):

ARDMS (American registry for diagnostic medical sonography), RT (registered technologist), CVT (certified vascular technologist), or, RCIS (registered, cardiovascular invasive specialist

Basic Life Support (BLS)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs):

  • Fiscal skills sufficient to analyze and present information regarding budget performance including staff patterns
  • Sufficient computer skills to perform duties
  • Well-versed in medical terminology
  • Ability to work independently, think critically and prioritize and manage a variety of tasks
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
