Position: Director of Social Services

Schedule: Full Time

Core Requirements:

  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with the multi-disciplinary clinical team
  • Organizational, problem solving and time management skills
  • Advance principles of abnormal psychology
  • Experience working with psychiatric patients-some hospital experience preferred

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carries out the personnel management activities associated with direct staff supervision, including screening and selection, orientation training, and development, performance management and employee relations functions.
  • Conducts psychosocial assessments with patients, families, community providers to document history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus, as needed.
  • Develops and coordinates individualized treatment and discharge plans to determine aftercare needs, as needed.
  • Represents the facility in involuntary commitment hearings, as needed.
  • Attends treatment team meetings to provide social work perspective to total case management.
  • Reports to community/state agencies and partnerships, as needed.
  • Provides supervision to psychiatric social workers who have not yet obtained independent licensure.

Qualifications

**A Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts is required for this position**

  • Must have, as a minimum, 3 years of supervised social work experience.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • 5+ years management experience
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, family members, visitors, government, state, and local agencies, community providers, and the general public.
  • Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with a multi-disciplinary team.
