POSITION SUMMARY:

As a member of the Corporate Partnerships team, this individual will identify and qualify new prospects, solicit and steward existing relationships, and be responsible for achieving specific fundraising targets for Development and hospital events. This individual will assist the Events team in setting and attaining short- and long-term goals for all event sponsorship activities and is responsible for a $2.5M portfolio. Their portfolio will focus on sponsorship and in-kind support for BMC events and will achieve their goals by driving new revenue and sponsorship renewals. The role involves proactively building a pipeline of new corporate partners through sponsorship and industry engagement aligned with institutional priorities. This position reports to the Director of Corporate Partnerships and collaborates with the full Development team as well as hospital staff to implement thoughtful and continuous engagement of high-level Corporate Partners.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Manage corporate relationships and renewals for a portfolio of all Hospital and Development events.
  • Proactively build a pipeline of corporate prospects; working with our Prospect Research team and other team members, identify at least 100 new qualified prospects per year, with 15 to 25 new partners secured annually.
  • Conduct phone calls, virtual meetings, face-to-face visits, tours, effective solicitations, and related outreach with corporate prospects.
  • Implement short- and long-term strategies to engage and retain corporate sponsors.
  • Reach sponsorship in-kind and cash revenue goals of $2.5 million+ annually, working closely with Corporate Partnerships and Events colleagues to craft successful sponsorship strategies.
  • Partner with other development colleagues, such as the Operations, Major Gifts/Individual Giving, and Communications teams, on appropriate areas for collaboration to maximize revenue for the hospital.
  • Manage corporate sponsor benefits, fulfillment, and administrative matters related to the sponsors’ engagement, including evaluating and packaging sponsorships and program engagement to maximize revenue.
  • Prepare sponsorship recap reports that review programs and highlight opportunities for the upcoming year.
  • Maintain and update the CRM database (Raisers Edge NXT) and handle the securing and booking of funding with Development finance; participate in cross team communications and workflows to ensure the accurate flow and documentation of information at all times.
  • Assist with other critical initiatives of the department as needed.
  • Understand the concepts and complexities of an academic health institution and comprehend corporate giving, including compliance, legal, financial, vendor, and administrative policies and processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • None required

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3-5 years' experience in a sales environment or in a frontline fundraising role required.
  • Experience in corporate partnerships and nonprofit development is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs):

  • Ability to thoughtfully drive towards ambitious goals.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Proven track record in working within complex organizations managing multiple demands, and balance evolving needs.
  • Demonstrated sales and/or business development experience with a track record of successfully meeting closing quotas.
  • Experience working with events is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to multi-task and see projects through from beginning to end.
  • Customer service focus and strong interpersonal skills are a must.
  • A hands-on individual with the ability to make decisions, work independently, and as a team player
  • Ability to think creatively and progressively at the intersections of philanthropy, sales, marketing, and business.
  • Proficient with standard Microsoft programs (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive). Experience with social networking tools is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, quality control, and organizational skills.
