POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Breast Imaging Manager and Lead Breast Imaging Technologist, the Ultrasound Technologist provides skill and initiative to the department’s mission through interactions with staff, manager and others as necessary. The ultrasound technologist’s primary duties are to generate diagnostic sonographic images for the radiologists, while also implementing policy and procedures as determined necessary through the manager and lead technologist.

JOB DESCRIPTION CHARACTERISTICS
EDUCATION:
Associate's degree (or equivalent from two-year college) or certificate program in diagnostic medical sonography must be obtained prior to hire,
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (OB or AB or RVT)
Accreditation must be attained prior to hire except for OB/GYN (one year to obtain accreditation)
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in related clinical area is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Work requires knowledge of principles and procedures of Ultrasound and the operation and maintenance of Ultrasound equipment.
Work requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients, coworkers, students and physicians.
