Position Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will support the Interventional Cardiology service with a primary focus in the Cath Lab and additional responsibilities supporting the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) program and outpatient cardiology services.

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week role consisting of four 10-hour shifts with a rotating day off. Approximately 36 hours per week will be based in the Cath Lab, with one afternoon per week dedicated to outpatient cardiology (Easton Cardiology).

Key Responsibilities:

Cath Lab (Primary Role):

  • Manage patient admissions and discharges
  • Obtain informed consent
  • Provide procedural and clinical support
  • Perform inpatient and outpatient evaluations
  • Deliver clinical management for patients in the Cath Lab and holding areas, including critical care
  • Participate in procedural activity consistent with training and credentialing, including:
  • Right heart catheterization
  • Temporary pacing wire placement
  • Arterial and venous access
  • Vascular closure device deployment

PERT Program Support:

  • Evaluate patients and assist in clinical decision-making
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care
  • Facilitate appropriate interventions

Outpatient Cardiology (Easton – Weekly):

  • Support office-based patient care (with cardiology team)
  • Participate in the amyloid program, including:
  • Outpatient evaluations
  • Therapy administration (including injectable therapies)
  • Patient monitoring and follow-up
  • Care coordination and collaboration with BMC and referral partners

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Educate patients and families on treatment and care plans
  • Contribute to program development, clinical pathways, and protocols
  • Serve as a liaison across clinical teams and departments

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a PA or NP (or equivalent combination)

Certifications/Licensure:

  • NCCPA certification (PA) or NP certification
  • Active Massachusetts license (PA or NP)
  • Active DEA registration

Compensation Range:

$109,000.00- $158,000.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
