        Schedule: 7-on/7-off, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

        Position Summary

        We are seeking an Academic Hospitalist to join our dedicated team. This role combines inpatient clinical care with teaching responsibilities, supporting the academic mission of BMC and fostering the development of future healthcare professionals.

        Key Responsibilities 

        • Provide comprehensive inpatient care on a 7-on/7-off schedule (7:00 AM–7:00 PM).  
        • Manage an average patient census of approximately 16 patients per shift.  
        • Demonstrate a commitment to resident education, mentorship, and faculty development.  
        • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to scholarly activities aligned with program goals.  
        • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.  
        • Serve as an Academic Advisor for assigned residents, including discussing resident progress at the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) for Milestone evaluations. When indicated, oversee resident remediation plans in coordination with the Program Director.  
        • Conduct and participate in mini-Clinical Evaluation Exercise (mini-CEX) sessions.  
        • Serve as an active, voting member of the Program Evaluation Committee (PEC).  
        • Participate as a member of the Interview Selection Committee during the annual interview season (typically November through January).  
        • Participate in and assist with the organization of house staff didactic sessions, including board review workshops.  
        • Complete the annual ACGME Faculty Survey. 

        Qualifications

        • MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
        • Demonstrated teaching experience in an academic environment.
        • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
        • Commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.

        The base salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to clinical FTE, qualifications, experience, education, board certifications, specialty, training, and scope of practice. The above hiring range represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Any eligible incentive compensation is not included in the above compensation range and will be discussed during the interview process.
